To use WhatsApp, link your organisation's WhatsApp Business Account through Meta Business Manager.
Before you start
The number you use can't already be active on a personal WhatsApp account.
Connect your account
- Select Connect next to Meta Business Manager. A Meta window opens.
- Add your WhatsApp phone number. Enter a new phone number, use a display name with a virtual number, or choose an existing verified number.
- Select the business assets to share with StudentIgnite. Choose your business portfolio and WhatsApp account. To track ads, also choose your Meta Pixel.
- Review what you'll share. Meta shows the access StudentIgnite is requesting, such as managing your WhatsApp account and conversations. Select Confirm.
- Finish. You don't need to add a payment method here. Select Finish.
Meta then reviews your business against its WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, and will contact you within 24 hours if there's an issue.
Ads attribution
Turn on Enable ads attribution to let Herbot know which ad a student clicked before messaging you.
Good to know
On WhatsApp, Herbot can check in with a quiet student within 24 hours of their last message, in line with Meta's messaging rules.
